BIBLE HILL: Bible Hill resident Wade Parker has announced his intention to run for Colchester County council in next month’s municipal election. The following is an introductory bio:
Who: Wade Parker
Resident of: Bible Hill for 46 years
Age: 51
Family: Married to Cathy Parker, two children Chad, 25, and Lindsay, 28.
Running for: District 11 (Bible Hill, Valley)
Occupation: Body shop manager for Pye’s Collision Center; self-employed business owner.
Hobbies: Coaching minor hockey, board member and founder of Salmon River Hockey Society, volunteer for multiple programs, assisted the community with winning the “Kraft Hockeyville” title for Salmon River.
Council experience: None
Major issues Parker sees in Colchester County: Potential zoning issues, the success of the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition Raceway, public safety and future economic development, flooding issues in District 11.
Why Parker believes he would make a good candidate: “I will be a strong voice on your behalf and will make sure your voice is heard at the county council meetings. I have lived in District 11 for 46 years and have seen many changes. As a county council member and your voice, together we can make Colchester a better community for all of us to live in.”
