AMHERST - There's no need for the Amherst Ramblers to be looking for a new president, says the man currently in the post.
A public meeting was held in Amherst Wednesday to discuss the possibility that George Baker will step down from the position, which would require another one to be voted in at the Maritime Junior A Hockey League club's annual general meeting.
"As far as me as president, I'm not going anywhere," Baker said. "They are trying to convince people that I'm going to step down so that they have somebody in place. I have no intention of going anywhere."
The team has been struggling of
late, falling to last place in the Maurice
Bent Division. The team is also having financial troubles and attendance was down to 200 people at the normally packed Amherst Stadium.
