TRURO – Local guitarist Amy Brandon is once again teaming up with the Visual Voice Gallery to offer a jazz series.
The second edition of the Truro Jazz Series begins on April 5.
“The Visual Voice Gallery is the perfect environment for these intimate concerts,” Brandon said in a news release.
The series will feature a wide range of jazz styles, including free jazz, bossa nova and big band. Some of the musicians include East Coast Music Award winner Bill Stevenson and St. F.X. faculty member Paul Tynan.
Concerts will be held Saturday evenings from April 5 to May 10, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the gallery on King Street. Most concerts will feature Brandon on guitar with a new guest artist each week.
Tickets are $10 per person or $20 per family, and seating is limited.
Joanne Hatfield will be the first guest performer, bringing Brazilian Bossa Nova to life on April 5. Stevenson, a pianist, and guitarist Russ Brandon will perform on April 12, with Tynan scheduled for April 19.
Guitarist Georges Hebert will perform on April 26, followed by bassist Lukas Pearse with free jazz on May 3, and vocalist Daniel Matto on May 10.
