TRURO – Nominated for a 2014 JUNO Award, Splash’N Boots is bringing a live show to the Marigold Cultural Centre this weekend.

Splash’N Boots – consisting of Taes Leavitt, left, and Nick Adams – is performing at the Marigold Cultural Centre in Truro on Sunday. Showtime is 3 p.m.

Splash’N Boots, who have music videos airing daily across Canada on Treehouse TV, has been nominated for children’s album of the year at the upcoming JUNO Award ceremony.

The two-time Canadian Children’s Group of the Year recipients will take the stage at the Marigold on Sunday at 3 p.m.

“We’re so excited to be coming back to Nova Scotia,” said Taes (pronounced Tess) Leavitt, the group’s ‘Boots.’ “The East Coast is one of our favourite places in the world so we’re really looking forward to our show in Truro.”

What began as a class project at Queens University for Nick Adams and Leavitt, has led to the release of seven CD’s (which includes their #1 album ‘Coconuts Don't Fall Far From the Tree’), two DVDs, national television exposure, and a cross-Canada filmed live tour with Treehouse TV.

Splash’N Boots has recently filmed a brand new television pilot with special guest star and Canadian icon Fred Penner. No stranger to children 's music, live entertainment and videos, this TV pilot is a first for the duo.

Since forming in 2004, Splash’N Boots has performed live shows for more than 100,000 children worldwide.

The duo’s album ‘Coconuts Don’t Fall Far From the Tree’ was written entirely with the help of their fans, with fans choosing the song titles, the album name and even weighing in on suggestions for song lyrics throughout the writing process.

Tickets for the Marigold performance are $25 for adults and $15 for children. They’re available at the Marigold Cultural Centre on Prince Street, online at www.marigoldcentre.ca, or by calling 897-4004. Tickets can also be purchased at MacQuarries Pharmasave on the Esplanade.
