GLENHOLME - A car rear-ended a school bus here early Wednesday morning.
Police said the crash occurred around 8:40 a.m. on Highway 2 near Little Dyke Road, when a car travelling towards town could not slow down quick enough and hit a bus stopped with 20 kids inside.
"We're extremely fortunate … that someone wasn't hurt," said Sgt. Al Affleck, Colchester County RCMP.
The two high school-aged girls were treated for minor injuries and bruises. Two of the students on the bus were taken to hospital for observation.
The driver of the car was slowing down but was blinded by the sun beaming in her windshield. The car was totalled while the bus received damage as well.
Another bus was brought in to transport students to Chiganois Elementary School in Masstown.
