Millbrook artist to present talk, guided tour at St. FX

ANTIGONISH – A Millbrook woman is hosting an artist’s talk and guided tour of her latest exhibit at St. Francis Xavier University on Thursday.

Mi’kmaq World View’ is one of the many works on display at Teresa Marshall’s “ Estate of Mine” exhibit at the St. FX Art Gallery until Feb. 2. The Millbrook artist is hosting a talk and guided tour at the gallery on Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. 

Teresa Marshall will be at the university’s art gallery with her exhibit, Estate of Mine, beginning at 7 p.m.

The exhibit features multi-media sculptures and images that deal with issues faced by First Nations people, with a specific focus and celebration of Mi’kmaq culture. It runs until Feb. 2

Marshall is of Mi’kmaq and Scottish ancestry, and is a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. She has served as an artist-in-residence at the Est Nord Est, Centre de Sculpture, St. Jean-Port_Joli, Que., and the Banff Centre for the Arts, Alb. Marshall is the recipient of many awards and grants, and has exhibited extensively across North America.
