TRURO – The Chapel Choir of the University of King’s College is bringing A King’s Christmas 2013 to town next month.
The performance, featuring a feast of seasonal song and story, will be held Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. at the St. John’s Anglican Church on Church Street.
Under the direction of Grammy award-winning musician Paul Halley, the concert will feature a blend of carols, from the mediaeval to the modern, interspersed with readings for the season.
Ken Schwartz, artistic director of Two Planks and A Passion Theatre Company, is joining the choir as narrator for its five performances this Christmas season.
Halley and the King’s College Chapel Choir have been holding Christmas concerts since 2008, and performances typically sell out in advance in Halifax. This is the second year the choir is bringing its popular concert, now an annual tradition for many, to Truro.
Tickets for the Truro performance are available online at www.kingschapelchoir.eventbrite.ca, from MacQuarries Pharmasave on the Esplanade or at the door. For more information, please visit www.ukings.ca/concerts.
