TRURO – First-time author Wayne Gillis of Charlottetown is stopping at the mall here later this month.
Gillis’s book, 'Moving Forward: A personal story of hope, recovery and determination,' chronicles his life after being injured when he was struck by a car in 2005. The book presents an inspiring story about how he overcame his injuries, including a traumatic brain injury, and began putting his life back together.
Riding his motorcycle, Gillis, a married father of two boys, was struck and left not breathing and with multiple physical injuries. An off-duty paramedic was instrumental in saving Gillis’ life.
“He, in turn, instrumented the ‘Forward Motion’ I write of,” Gillis said in a press release.
Gillis will visit the Coles store in the Truro Mall on Sept. 28, from 1 to 3 p.m.
