TRURO – The art gallery at the Marigold Cultural Centre is undergoing a name change.
MacLellan & Moffatt Financial is partnering with the centre in support of the gallery, and in doing so, the gallery’s new name will be The MacLellan & Moffatt Financial Gallery.
With the commitment, the business is alleviating any financial concerns for the gallery and will ensure proper maintenance. It will also allow for further development and diversification of gallery programming.
Together with the Marigold, MacLellan & Moffatt Financial will ensure the community has a shared visual arts space in the heart of the community.
The financial commitment reflects the ongoing passion and dedication initiated by the Marigold gallery’s founding curator Audrey Hanrahan.
“My mother would be very pleased to see this small but very special gallery being sponsored by such a wonderful community supporter,” said Hanrahan’s daughter, Anne Perigo, in a news release.
A formal public renaming celebration will take place Aug. 14 at 6 p.m., coinciding with the opening of the exhibition of ‘Traces of Moments’ by Erin Jackson.
All are welcome to attend.
In operation for six years, the Marigold Gallery has fast become a fixture in the cultural makeup of the community. Serving to inspire, educate and entertain, the Marigold Gallery offers an opportunity for local artists of all backgrounds and experience to exhibit their work.
The Marigold Gallery also offers a central space in our community for students to exhibit their work. Students of Marigold programming, as well as students of other cultural programs from across the community, have featured in the Marigold Gallery.
