Teens to showcase Stewiacke photography

STEWIACKE – Three exhibits will be on display throughout this month at the Winding River Art Gallery here.

J. Marshall Burgess will be the featured artist for the month. From Liverpool, Burgess is a lawyer and recently retired from the Department of Justice. He is the president of the Icelandic Memorial Society of Nova Scotia, as well as past president of the Scandinavian Society of Nova Scotia.

His exhibit will run until the end of August.

From Aug. 2 to 16, the photography by the Stewiacke Library Teen Group entitled ‘Stewiacke by the Hour’ will be on display, with an opening reception on Aug. 9, 7-8:30 p.m.

From Aug. 16 to 30, the winning photos of a Colchester County photo contest, sponsored by the gallery, will be on display.

The gallery, located at Mastodon Ridge, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
