Body of man who was swimming in Halifax-area lake pulled from water

HALIFAX - The body of a swimmer was recovered from Kearney Lake near Halifax on Friday evening.
An emergency services official confirms the victim was a man around 50 years old.
The fire department received a call about 7:10 p.m. reporting a missing swimmer.
Firefighters pulled the man from the water.
Krista Beck of Emergency Health Services says paramedics were called to the scene shortly before 7 p.m. but there was nothing they could do.
