TRURO - The bar was raised during this year's fundraising banquet and silent auction for the Christian Counselling Ministries.
The Evening of Bluegrass brought in $10,000 for the non-profit organization during the recent show featuring the Spinney Brothers at the Best Western Glengarry.
The event was sold out with 300 guests in attendance for an evening of entertainment.
Organizers said 60 individuals and businesses donated to the silent auction.
Among them were Kim and Ron Wallace and Laura and Dave Bezanson who crafted and donated one-of-a-kind birdhouses. The 38 birdhouses were sold, raising more than $1,500.
The event also would have not been possible without the volunteers who helped co-ordinate the event. Ron "the barber" Richard was the promotional partner and Hope FM 98.5 sponsored and hosted the event.
