CALGARY - A pricey pair of posh penthouses will go up for sale in Calgary to anyone who has $10 million to spare.
The dwellings atop the Astoria on Tenth tower will be the third priciest penthouses in Canada, behind $25 million and $18 million offerings in Toronto and Vancouver.
Gerry Mendyk, president and director of Alberta-based Arcus Developments, said the luxury spaces are a good fit in Calgary's booming economy.
"The Astoria penthouses are lavish, opulent, and truly spectacular," said Mendyk, who plans to move into the 225-unit building when it opens in 2010.
"The city's never seen anything like them, and we feel now is the perfect time to introduce them."
The suites on the 34th and 35th floors are each more than 400 square metres over two levels, boasts 110 sq. metres on five outdoor balconies and offer a 270-degree panorama of the city and the distant Rocky Mountains.
Each suite includes a temperature-controlled 860-bottle wine vault, big screen media room, billiards room, marble bathtub, cappuccino machine, library, grand curving staircases and priority elevator service with VIP parking.
The package is topped off with $1-million worth of interior finishing and a $500,000 home automation and advanced audio-video system.
