TRURO - An estimated 400 people gathered at the Nova Scotia Community College for the sixth annual Mawi'omi on Tuesdsay morning.

The event promotes and showcases Native culture and features singing, dancing and drumming. One of the highlights throughout the morning was native and non-native community members, including children, coming together to participate in a number of dances.

The event continues until 2:30 p.m. in the Sport and Wellness building at the NSCC.
