The Truro Tide gave up their Saturday game 15-12 to the Southshore Seahawks.
Truro travelled to Bridgwater hoping to put an end to their four game losing streak. Instead, a late game field goal dashed their hopes of climbing back into the NSMFA tier one atom playoffs.
One of the Tide's leading contributors this season, Owen Sellers, left the game with an injury and the Tide struggled to fill the void. That was the opening the Seahawks needed to mount a comeback and the 25-yard field goal sealed the win for the Seahawks and gave them their third win of the season.
The Tide come back home to face the Dartmouth Destroyers White squad on Oct. 21 at 5 p.m. at the TAAC grounds.
In NSMFA peewee action from Saturday, the Truro Blue Bombers crushed the South Shore Seahawks 48-6.
The Blue Bombers (4-2) have won two straight games after defeating the Seahawks in Bridgewater yesterday.
Reilly Carmichael and Mackie Hart each rushed for a major, while Michael Adams threw 2 TD passes to Ryan Power and Jordan Waller.
The Blue Bombers changed things up for the second half and allowed other players to try their hand at positions they don't get a lot of reps at and they contributed on scores as well.
The Bombers come home to play the Halifax Argos in their final home game of the season Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the TAAC grounds.
