TRURO – Seven residents of an apartment building on Elm Street in Truro were displaced after fire broke out in the basement of the complex on Thursday night.
Truro firefighters responded to the call just after 7 p.m. and contained the blaze quickly.
“It was a fairly quick knockdown,” said Truro fire chief Blois Currie. “Probably about five minutes and we had it knocked down, and then we just did overhaul, and we’ve got security on it now and we’ll do an investigation in the morning to determine what the cause was.”
Police, EHS and the Red Cross also responded to the scene.
The apartment building, located across the street from the Atlantic Superstore, consists of seven units.
