TRURO – The municipal election kicks off Thursday with two communities providing electronic voting and advance paper ballot voting also opening today in two areas.
In the Town of Truro, residents will be voting electronically via telephone or Internet. Voting begins today at noon and will continue until election day, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. Electronic voting can be done 24 hours a day.
In the Town of Stewiacke, both paper ballots and electronic voting are being used. People using the paper ballots can drop into the town hall on George Street today and Oct. 16 to cast an advance ballot between noon and 8 p.m. On election day, paper ballots will be available at the town hall from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Electronic voting also beings today in Stewiacke, at 9 a.m., and runs until Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. Computer access will be available at the community’s town hall as well.
Voting for Colchester County residents will be done solely by paper ballot. There are two advance polls for county voters: today and Oct. 16 from noon to 8 p.m. Ballots can also be cast on election day, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the various polling stations throughout the county.
