TRURO - Girl Guide units across the county have launched their annual Chocolatey Mint Girl Guide cookie campaign.
"It's our main and really our only fundraiser for Guides," said Caroline Blair, Colchester District Commissioner.
"It supports a lot of the activities the girls do."
Proceeds from the sale of Girl Guide cookies support Guiding activities - both in your community and across the country.
She said funds raised from cookie sales are used to pay for camping trips and equipment, life skills education tools, workshops and last year an anti-bullying rally held in Truro.
Blair said the campaign also teaches life skills, from handling money, meeting new people and handling disappointment, which is a reality of life.
"Not everyone says, "yes" to cookies," she said.
Members of the 1st Truro Brownie unit as well as all Sparks, Brownies, Guides and Pathfinders in Colchester will be selling Girl Guide cookies until they are all gone.
Look for the Guiders in your community during the next few weeks as they complete a door-to-door campaign. Some will also be providing a drive through, so you can buy from your car. Cookies sell for $5 per box.
