The Truro Bearcats earned a 2-1 win against the Campbellton Tigers in Maritime Junior Hockey action in New Brunswick on Friday night.
Jordan Coccimigilio opened the scoring at 8:54 to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead after the first period. Travis Moore scored at 3:30 to extend the lead to 2-0. Brandon Pye led the Truro squad with two assists.
The Tigers’ Andrew Meredith scored a powerplay goal at 19:33 to cut the lead to 2-1 after the second period. There was no third period scoring.
Truro went 0 for 2 on the powerplay while Campbellton went 1 for 4.
Shayne Campbell stopped 22 of 23 shots for the Truro win while Miguel Sullivan stopped 36 of 38 shots in the loss.
Truro’s early season record is 1-0-0-0; Campbellton’s is
0-1-0-0.
