ENFIELD – The body of a 23-year-old man has been recovered from Dollar Lake.

Police were called to Dollar Lake Provincial Park, east of Enfield, Saturday at about 6:45 p.m. after the man ran into trouble while swimming with friends. Official reports indicate the man was from China, but specific details weren’t confirmed or released Sunday, pending notification of next of kin.

"He attempted to swim from one side of the lake to the other, during his swim he had difficulty. He surfaced, went under the water again and wasn't seen," reported RCMP Cpl. Scott MacRae said of the incident.

The beach was closed Saturday while the search continued, however, it was called off

at 9 p.m. that night because of darkness.

On Sunday morning, divers entered the water at about 9 a.m. and found the man’s body about an hour later.
