Truro man fined for drug possession
TRURO - A Truro man convicted of possessing cannibas resin (hash oil) was fined $150 in provincial court this week.
Charles Edward Borden, 52, of 37 Cross St., was charged last April.

Man charged with having sex with a minor
TRURO - A Millbrook man charged with having sex with a female under age 14 is to begin a three-day trial in February after pleading not guilty this week in provincial court.
James Bernard Johnson, 63, of 929 Willow St., is charged with offences dating to between June and September of 1967, when he would have been 21. His trial is to be held in provincial court in Truro on Feb. 9, 11 and 12.
A publication ban is in place to protect the identity of the plaintiff.
Johnson is the bylaw officer for the Millbrook First Nation's band.

Failing breathalyser results in fine
TRURO - An Onslow man who pleaded guilty to failing the breathalyser has been fined $1,150.
David Edward Comeau, 50, of 12941 Highway 2, also lost his driving privileges for one year.

Bible Hill man loses licence for one year
TRURO - A Bible Hill man convicted of refusing the breathalyser has been fined $1,150.
Paul Lorne Todd Ernest, 46, of 100 Pictou Rd., also lost his driving privileges for one year.

Millbrook woman fined for shoplifting
TRURO - A Millbrook woman convicted of shoplifting from Zellers was fined $200 this week in provincial court.
Sarah Emily Paul, 24, of 9 Church Rd., was charged with the offence on May 25.

Truro man placed on probation
TRURO - A Truro man convicted of being at large on a court undertakings was this week handed a suspended sentence and placed on six-month's probation.
David Scott Warrick, 42, of 43 Arthur St., Apt. 25, was also ordered to take counseling for substance abuse.
