Fine handed down to Halifax man
for possessing illegal tobacco
TRURO - A Halifax man was fined $500 in Truro provincial court recently for possession of unstamped tobacco.
Harold Joseph King, 42, pled guilty to the possession charge under the Excise Act that dates back to May 8, 2009 in Millbrook.

Prince Street resident fined, loses licence
for driving over legal alcohol limit
TRURO - A Truro man was fined $1,150 in Truro provincial court recently for driving while over the legal alcohol limit.
Gregory Allan Stewart, 21, 345 Prince St., Apt. 9, was also handed a one-year driving prohibition, placed on probation for a year and must take part in the interlock program for three month.
The incident occurred on Canada Day this year in Truro.

August incident ends in fine,
lost licence for Truro man
TRURO - A Truro man has been fined $1,150 and lost his license for a year for driving while over the legal alcohol limit.
Albert Julien Theriault, 49, of 182 Willow St., Apt. 3, received the fine recently in Truro provincial court for an incident that occurred on Aug. 2, 2009 in Truro.
He also must take part in the interlock program for three months.

Possessing pot, cannabis
resin results in jail sentence
TRURO - A Springhill man will serve 14 days in jail for possessing cannabis marijuana and cannabis resin.
James Vaughn Riemersma, 25, of 273 McGee St., was sentenced recently in Truro provincial court after earlier pleading guilty to the charges. He will serve the jail time intermittently between 8 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Monday. He has also been placed on probation for a year.
The incident happened Feb. 14, 2009 in Debert.

$1,380 fine handed down for driving
while over legal alcohol limit
TRURO - A Truro man has been fined $1,380 for driving while over the legal alcohol limit.
David John Britney, 47, of 68 Upham Dr., was also handed a year driving prohibition and must take part in the interlock program for three months. The incident occurred July 25, 2009.

Kennetcook man loses
licence for two years
TRURO - A Kennetcook man was fined $1,200 and handed a two-year driving prohibition for driving while over the legal alcohol limit.
Marc Leslie Amirault, 34, of 69 White Settlement Rd., received the fine recently in Truro provincial court. The incident happened July 4, 2009.

Truro Heights resident
fined $1,500, loses licence
TRURO - A Truro Heights man was fined $1,500 for driving while over the legal alcohol limit.
Richard Alexander Adrian Yorke, 31, of Truro Heights Road recently was fined in Truro provincial court. He was also prohibited from driving for a year, placed on probations for a year and must take part in the interlock program for three months.

Failing to provide breath sample
results in fine, suspended licence
TRURO - A Truro man was fined $1,150 in Truro provincial court for failing to provide a breath sample needed to determine the concentration, if any, of alcohol.
Ronald William Totten, 59, of 60 Beechwood Dr. is also prohibited from driving for a year and must take part in the interlock program for three months. The incident happened on March 15, 2009.
