Cassidy to run in municipal election

Frank Cassidy has confirmed with the Truro Daily News his intention to run for Truro town council during this fall's municipal election. The following is an introductory bio of Cassidy.

Who: Frank Cassidy

Resident of Truro for: 27 years

Age: 60

Employment: Journalist

Running for: Ward 1 councillor

Family: Daughter Kate and son Robert

Hobbies: Gardening, stamp collecting

Major issues he sees in the town: "I want to see a national standard (flag) put up at town hall" promoting major events as they occur and special groups and organizations, said Cassidy.

Also, "I want to see a Canadian flag flying in front of town hall ... (and) we have to do something with (John Ross and Sons) because it's absolutely disgusting."

Why he believes he's a good candidate: "I believe in change."

I hope that Frank Cassidy will run in Ward 3,I like his attitude about John Ross and Co.

Stick your flag where the sun don't shine, and leave John Ross alone. He's creating work and that's more than any councilor or mayor in Truro has ever done.

How many times does the town need to revisit the John Ross and sons issue? What's disgusting isn't the business itself but the amount of time and money wasted on the issue. Don't count on my vote.
