'Steady' turnout at Truro polling station

TRURO - A voter enters a polling station in Truro on Tuesday morning.

Truro's Gerard MacPherson was just one of many voters at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26 on Brunswick Street casting his vote before noon for the provincial election. Polls are open until 8 p.m. 

Polls for the provincial election are open until 8 p.m. and those working at the station at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26 in Truro have said voters have been steady going since 8 a.m.

In the Truro-Bible Hill-Millbrook-Salmon River riding, candidates vying for votes include incumbent NDP candidate Lenore Zann, Liberal Barry Mellish and Progressive Conservative Charles Cox.

Candidates in Colchester North include incumbent Liberal Karen Casey, NDP Jim Wyatt and Progressive Conservative John K. MacDonald; in Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley, candidates are incumbent NDP Gary Burrill, Liberal Tom Martin and Progressive Conservative Larry Harrison.
