AUG. 20 – Central Nova Women’s Resource Centre, Esplanade, Truro. 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Items as low as $1 or fill a grocery bag for $10.

 

Potluck dinner

AUG. 20 – Springside United Church Hall. 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Desserts will be blueberry. Proceeds for the church. Takeouts available. $10 per person; children five and under get in for free.

 

Drop-in knit, crochet group

AUG. 21 – Truro library. 3 to 4:30 p.m. Bring yarn and needles. Patterns and written instructions will be available. For ages eight and older.

 

Thrift store sale, barbecue

AUG. 21 – The Salvation Army’s thrift store is holding a summer sale and barbecue. 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Everyone welcome.

AUG. 21 – Hidden Hilltop Family Campground, Glenholme. Starts at 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Hidden Hilltop Campers Association. Everyone welcome.

 

Open door prayer for the community

AUG. 22 – First Baptist Church, Prince Street, Truro. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Offering personal prayer for people in the community. Wheelchair accessible to the church’s sanctuary.

Yard sale

AUG. 23 – Valley United Church Hall in the basement. 110 Salmon River Rd., Valley. 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rain or shine. All proceeds go toward building a high school in Guatemala.

Blueberry festival supper

AUG. 23 – Peniel United Church, Five Islands. 4:30 to 6 p.m. Menu: ham, potato salad, baked beans, rolls, tea, coffee and blueberry desserts. Adults, $10; children 12 and younger, $5. Takeouts available. Sponsored by the UCW.

AUG. 23 – Fraser Cultural Centre, Tatamagouche. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Coffee, muffins for $3. Pie or cheesecake with sauce and beverage for $5. Bake table, berries, live music and crafts.

 

Harvest For Hunger NS Picnic

AUG. 24 – Captain Cob’s Corn Maze, Masstown Market. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is a donation to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank to help end hunger in Sudan.

North Shore ATV Club open house
