July 18

6 p.m. – Ball tournament (start)

 

July 19                      

9 a.m. to dark – Ball tournament (continued)

12 to 2 p.m. – Fire Dept. Lobster Dinner

 

July 20

9 a.m. – Ball tournament (continued)

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – River John Farmers Market at Lismore Sheep Farm-a variety of vendors with fresh produce, baking, meat, eggs and various artisans, as well as a barbecue, live music and wagon rides.

11 a.m. – Church Service at Salem United Church

12 p.m. – Festival Lunch at the Legion, $5 

6 p.m. – Children’s parade/Family Barbecue, Lion’s Club Playground                                  

7 to 9 p.m. – Adult Scavenger Hunt

7 p.m. – Music Fest/Gospel Sing at Salem United

9 p.m. – Drive-in Theatre at the Veranda, free movie, pop. Bring lawn chairs.

 

July 21                      

6:45 to 10:30 a.m. – Breakfast by Sunrise Trail 4H Club at Lion’s, $5/$3, French Toast

1 to 4:30 p.m. – Sunrise Trail 4H Achievement Day at Melville-Seafoam Community Hall

2 p.m. – Strawberry Tea at the Presbyterian Church

7 p.m. – Entertainment on the Veranda with Addison Locke

7 p.m. – Cribbage Night at the Fire Hall, 19+, $5, winner take all

 

July 22

6:45 to 10:30 a.m. – Breakfast by River John 4H Club at Lion’s, $5/$3,bacon, eggs and beans              

1 to 4 p.m. – Community Picnic and Rock Sculpture Contest at Skinners

4 to 9 p.m. – Ball Hockey Tournament, school grounds (4 to 6 p.m. under 13, 7 to 9 p.m. 13 and over)

6 to 7 p.m. – Open house at Squire Hill Stables.

7 p.m. – Fiddling contest, Fire Hall, $10 admission

7 p.m. – Entertainment on the Veranda, local jam groups

 

July 23

6:45 to 10:30 a.m. – Breakfast by Salem Stewards Group at Lions, $5/$3, sausage and eggs

1 to 4 p.m. – Washer toss, RJ Legion

7 to 9 p.m. – “Thursday Night Players” on Lion’s Verandah

6:30 p.m. – Old Timer’s soft ball game, ball field, East vs. West

7 p.m. – Trivia Night at the Legion, 19+

9 p.m. – Drive-in Theatre at the Veranda, free movie, pop. Bring lawn chairs

 

July 24

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Quilt Fair

9 to 11 a.m. – River John “Run by the Sea ,” walk/run, 5km/10km, Start 10 a.m., registration at 86 River Rd, at 9 a.m., cost: $5

11:30 a.m. – UCW Soup luncheon, Salem Church Hall

1:30 to 3:30 p.m. – Historical Presentation, Terry Punch at the School

2 to 5 p.m. – Warden’s Tea/Birthday Cake/Art Exhibit, Fire Hall

6:30 p.m. – Scrabble walk, Lion’s veranda

8 p.m. – Lawnmower Races at Ball Park.                                                        

9 p.m. to 1 a.m. – Over 40 Dance with Derailed, Fire Hall, $10

 

July 26

6:45 to 10:30 a.m. – Breakfast by the Lion’s at Lions, $5/$3, pancakes and sausages

8 to 11 a.m. – Mile Long Yard Sale

9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Quilt sale

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Kayak Festival, “The Bridges of River John”

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Lismore Sheep Farm Festival Day, sheep shearing, spinning, knitting, felting, wool crafts, visit the barn, face painting, wagon rides, barbecue

11a.m. – Lobster dinner at the Salem church hall                                                                     

1 to 4:30 p.m. – Antique Car Show at the School, free admission, registration at 1 p.m.

TBA – Lucky Duck Race on the River

2:30 p.m. – Meat roll at the RJ Legion
