Born in Toronto, Roger Green moved to Truro just before the turn of the century to begin writing a new version of Heart of Darkness.
His background includes a degree from York University in English Literature and Creative Writing, and Certification as a Chef.
His fixation with colour began as a child when he whiled away the time in church staring at the stained glass windows. For many years he worked with glass, then switched to acrylics and mixed media.
His works are abstract, non representational and brightly coloured. The intention is to give the viewer the option to see what they want to see, sometimes gently implied by the titles.
A curmudgeon at heart, he burns off the odd op-ed piece for the local paper.
Green’s gallery opening is May 15 at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome.
