Calling on seniors in Tatamagouche and surrounding areas
These long winter days when it’s hard to get out because of the cold winds or ice underfoot, do you ever think back to times past when you visited Grandparents or friends, perhaps on the farm or in the “big city”?
Or maybe you experienced a memorable Christmas, or went skating on a pond, or swam off the wharf or went to Malagash on the ferry, or travelled on the train or bought your first tractor or car? Maybe it’s the birth of your first child, or a time you went to the old hospital. Or perhaps you heard about someone who worked at the old silica plant?
Whatever memory or story that tells us something of the years gone by, would you be prepared to share them with the North Shore Archives at the Heritage Centre in Creamery Square? So often we think no one would be interested, but those of us who love social history yearn to know more about life back then. You can write the memories down or contact us by mail at cs.heritage @ns.aliantzinc.ca, or phone at 657-2086, 657-2255 or 657-2299; or we will try to set up something on our website for you to use. Visit us at www.tatamagoucheheritagecentre.ca.
Please don’t think, “Who would be interested in that?” We really would like to hear from you!
