Family-themed event will replace the Ice Drags this year

The members and volunteers of the Sutherland’s Lake Trail and Groomer Association (SLTGA) have a fun filled event planned for Feb. 8. This snowmobiling event is for all ages and is replacing the Sutherland’s Lake Ice Drags this year.

Here is a highlight of what to expect on Feb. 8 with more details to follow in the coming days. Everything gets underway at 9 a.m. and events run all day till 7 p.m.:

• Poker Rally with bonus scavenger hunt

• three company-sponsored trail side check points

• exciting and spectacular trail route

• dealer demo models onsite

• antique snowmobiles on display

• participants’ Show & Shine contest

• live music and open mic back at the clubhouse following the ride from 3 to 7 p.m. (family event)

• family skating at the lake in designated area

• clubhouse bon fire at dusk

• groomed trails, gas available, full kitchen, trail passes and more

• 50/50 draw and silent auction

• face painting for the kids (and the young-at-heart)

The carnival will also mark the officially naming of the Sutherland’s Lake Association’s warming hut in honour of the late Donnie Dahr.

Happy sledding!
