Women's resources, by Michaela MacLachlan
Popular summer course now offered in March for girls 8-12
Do you know a girl aged 8-12 who is looking for a fun way to spend her days over March Break? If so, the Girl Power Camp is the camp for her!
The ever popular Girl Power Camp, which runs during the summer at Central Nova Women’s Resource Centre, will be open to girls for the week of Mar. 10 to 14 with many fun themes, crafts and activities!
Some of the themes include: Women in Science, Arts and Culture, Acts of Kindness and (everyone’s favorite) pajama’s and pizza day! Girl Power is a great way for girls to make new friends, as well as boost their self-esteem.
The camp runs Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and snacks and supplies will be provided. The best part of all is the cost is only $25 per camper for the WHOLE week. Yes, you read that right, only $25 for the whole week.
There are limited spaces available, so call now to register at 895-4295.
We also have a group available for teen girls in grades 10 to 12 each Tuesday afternoon afterschool. The Teen Social Network is a drop-in group held at the Central Nova Women’s Resource Centre Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Girls can drop in and spend time with friends, chat about real life issues and become engaged in the community, all while having fun! So grab a girlfriend and stop by!
