Hilden resident Doug Betts was awarded his air cadet league long service medal.

Long service award

 Betts joined 77 Arrowhead Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron in Truro in 1944. After his term as a cadet he joined the RCAF to instruct cadets and has served as liaison officer between the RCAF and Battawa Air Cadet Squadron in Ontario. Following his retirement from the RCAF he has worked with cadet squadrons in Goose Bay NL and Brookfield and has served many other roles with the organization. Betts recently accepted his award from Capt. Gene A. Bell, CD (Ret'd) first vice-chairman of the Air Cadet League of Canada Nova Scotia Provincial Committee. Submitted photo
