The holidays are fast approaching and your library has many programs and events for the upcoming festive season.

The Elmsdale branch is accepting donations of personal hygiene products such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, deodorant and others for the ‘caring and sharing’ basket. Donations will go to the caring and sharing program and will be accepted until Dec. 14.

In addition, a holiday open house will take place at the Elmsdale library on Dec. 14.

In Mount Uniacke, the library’s Twelve Crafty Days of Christmas is being celebrated. There will be a different craft on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until Dec. 21.

This branch’s library will also hold a holiday open house. It takes place on Dec. 12 from

6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will include a family craft and light refreshments.

In Stewiacke, the holiday open house will be held Dec. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon as well as 1 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Drop by for a craft and enjoy a holiday treat. Children 12 and younger can enter a draw to win a wooden reindeer decoration.

The Tatamagouche branch is welcoming donations of new hats, scarves and gloves for its mitten tree. For information on the deadline for donations, call 657-3064.

This branch’s library holiday open house will take place on Dec. 19 between 1 and 5 p.m. It will include live music from 1 to 3 p.m. as well as gift draws and other treats.

And in Truro, donations of new hats, scarfs and mittens are also being accepted for the mitten tree until Dec. 13. All items will be donated to the Christmas Index Program.

This library’s holiday open house will take place on Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Enjoy some hot apple cider, contribute to the mitten tree, or just stop by to say hello. There will be crafts for the children.
