Truro businessman to receive Chamber of Commerce lifetime achievement award

TRURO - A Truro businessman, whose surname is known far and wide, is to receive a Lifetime Business Achievement Award.

Tom Stanfield, president and CEO of Stanfields Ltd., is to receive the BDC-Chamber award during the annual gala of the Truro Colchester Chamber of Commerce on May 22.

Stanfield took over the helm of Stanfield's at age 24 after the passing of his father, John.

He was inducted into the Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame in June 2004 and has served as the National Director of the Canadian Manufacturers' Assoc.

He is also a past board member of Atlantic Provinces Transportation Commission, Industrial Estates Ltd., and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

The keynote speaker at the event is to be Canadian Tire's national retail president, Allan MacDonald.
