Stewiacke landmark sold

Work has started on the Farmer Clem's building on Garden Gate Lane in Stewiacke after being sold to Pine Acres RV Ltd. of Moncton. The sale closes at the end of November.

STEWIACKE - A landmark for the past 20 years in Stewiacke, Farmer Clem's has been sold.

Closing for the sale, said Farmer Clem's founder Vernon Blois, is the end of November.

Pine Acres RV Ltd., from Moncton, purchased the building.

"This is just another stage of life," said Blois regarding the sale. "You have to keep moving. This location has served us well, and will in our retirement."

Blois said that part of being in business for yourself is selling off assets to boost up one's retirement fund, which is part of the reason behind the sale.

Blois, who founded Farmer Clem's in 1961, turns 63 in January.

Just counting....blois, 63, would have been 12 when he started this business in 1961.....really? I'd like to hear that story..... And, sounds like, based on his comment, "This location has served us well, and will in our retirement.", he is not selling the land but leasing or renting the location to pine acres rv.....hmmmmm...guess it beats going to work.....Bean.
