HALIFAX - Nova Scotia Power has been given in the go-ahead to build a $120-million wind farm in Colchester County.
The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board, in a decision released today, says it's satisfied the Nuttby Mountain wind project is in the best interest of ratepayers and should proceed.
The project involves buying and installing 22 turbines, and constructing a new substation and transmission interconnection.
The turbines will produce enough energy to power approximately 15,000 homes.
Nova Scotia Power bought the development rights for Nuttby Mountain from EarthFirst Canada Inc. earlier this year after the Calgary-based company fell into financial difficulties.

Organizations: Nova Scotia Power, Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board, EarthFirst Canada Inc.
