TRURO – It’s time to get out your maple syrup, hockey and lacrosse sticks, as well as your loonies as the Cantabile Society of Truro sets to close another season.
The society, featuring the Cantabile Singers and Cantabile Boys’ Choir, is hosting ‘A Cantabile Canadian Road Trip’ on May 24 at 7 p.m. at the St. Andrew’s United Church in Truro. Artistic director Chris Bowman will be accompanied by Lisa Annand of the Cantabile Singers and Ross Thompson of the Cantabile Boys’ Choir.
‘A Cantabile Canadian Road Trip’ will feature a mix of folk, classical, and pop music by all Canadian composers and arrangers. Those attending will be treated to the lilt of familiar Maritime folk melodies, west coast rainfall, prairie soundscapes, Quebec chansons, and irreverent but fun Newfoundland traditional tunes.
Cantabile is proud to provide something for everyone's choral music tastes, in a showcase of both established and emerging Canadian composers.
Tickets are $17 for adults, $5 for students and children under 12 are free. They can be purchased at MacQuarries Pharmasave on the Esplanade or any choir member. Remaining tickets will also be available at the door.
