TRURO – A Stewiacke art gallery has had a makeover in preparation for the 2014 season.
The Winding River Art Gallery will open Tuesday to show people the changes made since the 2013 season.
“It’s a whole new place,” said Myrna Hambleton, a founding member of the gallery, who said she was excited about the changes.
The gallery, previously located upstairs at Mastodon Ridge, is now downstairs where the gift shop once was. Hambelton said there are no more stairs to traverse and the space is much brighter and bigger.
“We’re a lot more accessible.”
A new location isn’t the only change, said Hambleton. New artists will be on exhibit, along with new products to buy, such as purses, woodwork, teddy bears, and locally made books.
“This is more inviting.”
Tuesday's opening will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and refreshments will be served.
