TRURO – It might be 11 months away, but Measha Brueggergosman is bringing her Christmas show to town.

Canadian soprano Measha Brueggergosman is set to perform a holiday show at the First United Church in Truro on Dec. 11. The New Brunswick native last performed at the church in May 2012 and 800 people were in attendance.

The Canadian soprano performed in front of 800 people at the First United Church in Truro in May of 2012, but there was room for more.

“She rocks that church,” said Melanie Grant, fundraising co-ordinator for the Marigold Cultural Centre, which is hosting the Dec. 11 show along with the First United Church. “She is just one woman, but she completely fills that church.”

Tickets for the Truro performance, which begins at 7:30 p.m., are $55 and available for purchase now. They can be purchased at the Marigold on Prince Street, or by calling 897-4004. Tickets are also available at MacQuarries Pharmasave on the Esplanade.

“It’s going to be a beautiful show,” Grant said. “It will be a holiday show, but it will be great.”

The 36-year-old Fredericton, N.B., native has traveled the world performing, including with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Montreal Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati Orchestra. She has performed solo shows at London’s Wigmore Hall, Roy Thomson Hall and Carnegie Hall, and sang the Olympic Hymn during the opening ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
