Ty Reveen (foreground) is bringing his late father Peter's (background) last project to the Cobequid Educational Centre on Friday.
Reveen is following in his father Peter's footsteps, who made numerous trips through the province during a career that spanned five decades.
"People who come out (to the show) will see the world's most amazing and funniest stage show," Reveen said. "That's what the Reveen show has always had a reputation as being and I'm not going to let them down on that."
Reveen's father had success in Canada, performing before sold-out theatres from coast to coast between the 1960s and just a few years ago.
After performing with his father throughout his youth, and then going into business for himself (he designs stage shows and created special effects for some of the world's best known performers), Reveen is continuing with his father's last project.
"It's the last great work of my father before he passed away earlier this year. He's been working at it for many years," Reveen said. "He planted the seed when I was five. He said that one day I would be taking over the show. He told me I would grow up to become very creative."
Through the use of hypnosis, Reveen helps subjects find their super consciousness. It's during that state, he helps them bring out their hidden talents - often with some hilarious results.
"It's the funniest thing when people are able to relax and let go of their negative self-conscious fears," he said. "The whole principle of the show is to take people out of their fear zone and bring out their inner talent."
Reveen said people have told him they'd like to volunteer, but don't want to make a fool of themselves. However, he added, people will never betray their persona or their theatrical mask.
"We all put on a persona and under the super conscious state you'd never betray it," he said.
The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are available through MacQuarries Pharmasave or Ticket Pro at 1-888-311-9090 or www.ticketpro.ca.
