TRURO – Members of the Truro Art Society will have their works on display for the month of February in a ‘Let’s Heat it Up’ exhibit.

The exhibit will run from Feb. 4 to 28 at the McCarthy Gallery at the Truro campus of the Nova Scotia Community College. An opening reception will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 6.

Along with artists, a representative from the Guatemala Project at Immaculate Conception Church will be on hand for a presentation about their ‘stoves for homes’ project.

During the three Fridays the exhibit runs, there will be free demonstrations from members. Tom Spence will offer a silver jewelry making demonstration on Feb. 8, while Karen Olsson and Kerry Geddes will explore colour on Feb. 15. Oil painting will be on the agenda on Feb. 22 with Bruce Wood. All demonstrations are in the gallery from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
