STEWIACKE - Artwork at the Winding River Art Gallery here will feature carvings and paintings for the month of October.
Originally from Ontario and now living in the Maitland area, Joanne Solway will have some of her carvings on display. After spending four years in the North, she began carving, mostly birds in wood.
She now carves in sandstone, gypsum and Cape Breton Marble.
The other featured artist is Truro's Janice Stewart.
A full-time artist, Stewart's choice of mediums is watercolour, however, she also experiments with acrylics and oils.
The gallery is open seven days a week and is located at the Mastodon Ridge. New hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
