TORONTO — Simon and Garfunkel say on their website that a Canadian-U.S. tour set for July is now on hold indefinitely.

The tour was originally set for April, but put off as Art Garfunkel tried to recover from a condition called vocal paresis.

The website says Garfunkel’s doctors expect him to make a full recovery but cannot predict an exact timeline.

The statement says the condition “inhibits the duo” from performing at the highest level,” so the tour was put on hold out of respect for their fans.

The 16 postponed concerts include a show at Calgary’s Pengrowth Saddledome on July 5.

The duo was also scheduled to perform in Vancouver, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax.

“I do feel bad about disrupting so many people’s plans,” Garfunkel said on the website.

“But, as I continue to mend, I can’t yet bring my ’A Game’ to a tour, and I would not perform for you with anything less.”
