TRURO - There is only one day left for writers to submit their manuscripts to one of
Atlantic Canada's most significant literary competitions.
The purpose of the competition is to offer feedback to emerging writers living in the Atlantic provinces and to provide a venue for their work to be considered against other aspiring authors.
Categories are: novel, short story, poetry, writing for children and young adult novel. Each submitted manuscript is read and evaluated by at least two judges, who consist of professionals in the field: writers, librarians, journalists, booksellers, publishers, and teachers.
The cost ranges between $25 to $35 per entry. Entrants must be at least 16 years old. For complete guidelines and to obtain a copy of the required entry form, visit www.writers.ns.ca/awc.html No manuscript will be accepted without a completed entry form and fee. Entries must be postmarked before Dec. 4.
