Glasgow Square announces lineup for fall season

NEW GLASGOW – Glasgow Square Theatre has announced its fall lineup and is bringing several Maritime acts to its stage this season.

The season kicks off on Oct. 6 with a CD release show for Charlie A’Court’s first studio album in six years, “Triumph and Disaster.” The album features co-writes with Ron Hynes, Kim Wempe, Jamie Robinson and Chris Kirby.

The Caledonian Scottish Fiddle Orchestra of Nova Scotia will come to the Glasgow Square stage on Oct. 20. The orchestra of 30 musicians plays music from Scotland and Ireland, including reels , jigs, polkas, and slow airs.

On Oct. 25, JP Cormier will be at the Square as part of a CD release tour for his new recording “Somewhere In The Back of My Heart.”

The Divorcees will be celebrating Halloween with Pictou County at Glasgow Square on Oct. 27. The east coast country band from New Brunswick will play as part of a Halloween party.

Also coming to the theatre stage this season is Tim Chaisson, who will be at the Square on Nov. 3 and will be joined by Toronto’s Poor Young Things. Chaisson is releasing his fourth album this fall titled “The Other Side.”

The Stanfields, a band that laces hard rock with traditional roots, will be at the Square on Nov. 16 promoting their new recording, “Death and Taxes.”

Finishing off the season will be Steven MacDougall on Nov. 24 with a special show in the Green Room at Glasgow Square. Known as Slowcoaster’s lead singer and guitarist, MacDougall will be performing selections from his new solo album, “Cruel and Unusual.”
