TRURO - Halifax-based rockers The Stanfields are stopping in Truro on their Canadian tour to promote their sophomore album.

Death & Taxes is being released on Tuesday and features 10 highly-charged tracks that are anthemic in scope and resplendent with The Stanfields' trademarks - a folk and punk-tinged blue collar rock and roll sound, driving guitar riffs and vocalist/guitarist Jon Landry's Tom Waits-esque growl.

The Stanfields will stop at the Split Crow on Oct. 6, just into the tour during October and November.

Formed in 2008 and hailing from the gritty post-industrial towns of Nova Scotia, The Stanfields play every show like it's their collective last night on Earth.

Much as the boys would have loved to play the Duchie Mason Blues festival, they actually didn't. See you all at the official opening of the newly renovated Split Crow in Truro on October 6!!
