TRURO - Two Truro musicians will perform with the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra in Truro next month.

Flutist Jaewon Choi and bass trombonist Andrew Ross will showcase their musical skills with the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra at First United Church on Aug. 29 at 7 p.m.

The program will feature Rimsky-Korsakov's concerto Capriccio Espagnol, with Richard Simoneau, principal trumpet with Symphony Nova Scotia, Vocalise by Rachmaninov, and Dvorak's Symphony #8.

Choi is a new member of the province-based orchestra. They passed their auditions in June before a panel of music director Dinuk Wijeratne and instrumental coaches. Young musicians who are full-time students and 12 years and older are auditioned each year.

Tickets for the concert are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $5 for students and are available at MacQuarries Pharmasave on the Esplanade and at the First United Church office.
