BIBLE HILL - There will be a lot of toe-tapping in Bible Hill this weekend.
The 41st annual Nova Scotia Bluegrass and Oldtime Music Festival takes place from Friday to Sunday at the Agridome.
Charles MacKenzie, the president of the Downeast Bluegrass and Oldtime Music Society, said there appears to be a lot of interest in advance of the weekend.
"My phone is ringing steady. There appears to be a lot of first-time people coming," said MacKenzie.
"We are hoping for 1,200 people like we had last year."
One of the highlights to kick off the festival will be a band showcase on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m.
Bands who have not entertained at the festival will play before judges and the winner will be given a contract with the Downeast Bluegrass and Oldtime Music Society.
Other big draws this year include Kati Penn and Newtown from Kentucky, A New Shade of Blue, Bluegrass Tradition and Rustic Harmony.
There will also be performers and songwriters workshops, a children's program on Saturday afternoon and a Sunday morning church service.
There will also be some camping on site. Festival tickets range from $10 to $50, depending on the day/days and advance or regular registration.
