Celtic Rant to perform Friday at Mo's

FIVE ISLANDS - A quartet of traditional acoustic musicians is bringing its sound to Five Islands this weekend with a performance at Mo's.

Celtic Rant, who calls Halifax and Ironville, Cape Breton, home, will perform Friday at 7 p.m.

The band's newest album, Encore, features five original compositions from all members of the band, as well as an assortment of traditional songs and tunes.

Drawing on the rich repertoire of East Coast Celtic traditions of intricate instrumentals, sea shanties, Irish ballads and original compositions, Celtic Rant has forged a polished sound around the guitar, fiddle, piano, mandolin and bagpipes.
