Marigold to feature ‘Bloom-Spirit' exhibit

TRURO - A Fall River artist will bring her works to the Marigold Cultural Centre Art Gallery for the month of June.

‘Bloom-Spirit' will run from June 2 to 28 and feature a celebration of mixed media artwork by Andrea Pottyondy. The artist combines the essence of flowers with ephemera from as far away as exotic India and closer to home.

"Flowers communicate celebration," said Pottyondy. "They are the icing of nature, celebrate the arrival of spring, and joy of summer. They are given in times of happiness and sorrow, but are always meant to bring joy and comfort to the viewer."

A reception will be held June 9 at 7 p.m.

The gallery is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and before performances at the centre.
