TATAMAGOUCHE - The Sharon United Church will host four summer concerts beginning in June.
The First Friday Concerts will begin on the eve of the 59th anniversary of the coronation of HRM Queen Elizabeth II - June 1 - with the Blue Engine String Quartet performing selections from the original ceremony as part of a classical concert at the church in Tatamagouche.
Refreshments will be available beginning at 7 p.m., with the concert starting at 8. Although not required, fancy hats are encouraged. Coronation memorabilia will be on display.
Formed in 1997, the Blue Engine String Quartet was formed as the core ensemble of the Nova Scotia chamber music series, Blue Engine Music. The quartet are all members of Symphony Nova Scotia.
Future concerts include Julie Johnstone and Fleur Mainville on July 6, Dawn and Margie Beaton on Aug. 3 and the Gatto Dolce Duo on Sept. 7.
Tickets are $20 or $60 for the season and are available at the Tatamagouche Farmers' Market, Sara Bonnyman Pottery or by calling (902) 657-1916. Although tickets may be available at the door, advance ticket holders enjoy preferred seating and a chance to win a door prize.
